What We See in McDonough Homes

McDonough has a historic square surrounded by neighborhoods built during Henry County's rapid growth.

Around the Square: Victorian and early 1900s homes near the courthouse have had systems added and replaced over decades. Mismatched equipment, crawlspace ducts and additions that were never sized into the system are common.

Eagle's Landing and Lake Dow: Golf and lake communities from the 1990s are on aging or second-generation systems. Many two-story homes still have original attic ductwork, and the upstairs struggles in summer.

Newer subdivisions off Highway 81 and Jonesboro Road: Homes from the 2000s boom often still run original builder-grade equipment, and pre-2010 systems may use R-22 refrigerant, which makes major repairs costly.

My installation team (Robbie, Dion, Carlos) came today right on time and all were very efficient and friendly. I asked for the best team because of previous problems with other companies and I'm sure I got it. When finishing up, Robbie explained everything they had done and even showed us pictures. As far as we know we were the FIRST Estes customers in Henry County (or McDonough) many, many years ago.

Great price · $400-600

I called Estes to schedule my yearly AC unit inspection. The operator offered to send someone the next day due to another customer's cancellation. I declined and chose a date later in the week. As soon as I hung up the phone, we noticed that the unit stopped cooling. I immediately called Estes back to see if the time slot was still available and thankfully it was. After surviving the night with a box fan and open windows, I got the call from the technician to say that she was at the front gate. Cris went straight to work to diagnose the problem. After checking everything inside our condo, she went outside and discovered that a lizard had crawled on a contactor and met its demise. As a result, it fried the part. Cris showed us a picture and explained in detail how it all worked. We were impressed with her knowledge and excitement for what she was doing. Cris replaced the contactor, capacitor, and added insulation on the suction line. She did an exceptional job of taking care of our unit and providing us with tips on how to keep it working efficiently. I recommend Estes for all of your AC needs and I highly recommend that you request Cris Cleveland. She's the GOAT!
